We_world_logo Kathy Perkins, Crime Prevention Specialist LAS VEGAS METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

 

 Kathy Perkins is a Crime Prevention Specialist with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department where she has been employed since 1982.  Kathy is currently assigned to the Northwest Area Command which serves the populace of the rapidly growing northwest Las Vegas.

 

Kathy’s duties are vast and include public presentations on a variety of crime prevention matters.  Crime Prevention Specialists are responsible for maintaining a knowledge of various crime prevention measures and practices and to inform and educate community members, as well as department members, on these issues.  Kathy also coordinates  crime prevention messages throughout the Las Vegas community via television, radio, print media.

 

Kathy also is an LVMPD instructor and provides a variety of crime prevention education to members of the police department. 

 

Kathy’s assignment at the Northwest Area Command is to assist community members and  patrol officers with crime prevention related matters.  Included in this function is the interaction with various community groups and governmental agencies to ensure that crime prevention needs are being met.

 

Kathy is certified in Crime Prevention Principles as well as Basic and Advanced Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design and Community Oriented Policing.
